From the 1950s to the 1970s, many of Australia’s major retailers had a policy of selling everything off their shelves.
The idea was to keep inventory costs down and make money through low-cost imports.
That has all changed.
The industry has been hit by the global economic downturn, the decline of the diamond industry, and the decline in the value of the Australian dollar.
The retail sector has suffered from a lack of new and affordable furniture that consumers want.
In response, the government has been trying to bring in cheaper imports to replace the old stuff.
But there is one big challenge the government hasn’t been able to tackle: how to keep up with the demand for more furniture.
The government has made a big investment in the Australian Furniture and Allied Industries Association (AFIAA) to tackle the shortage.
It has also set up the National Furniture Supply Association (NFSAA) to support retailers in selling their furniture.
But there is no clear solution to the supply chain problem.
Some furniture retailers have said they are too slow to move inventory, but the industry is worried they won’t be able to sell enough products.
“I think there are some really big problems,” said John Waddell, CEO of the National Retail Federation.
“There is a lack and demand for certain types of furniture and the government doesn’t have the resources to get the goods to consumers quickly.”
So far, the supply problem has been dealt with in two ways.
First, AFIAA has been tasked with ensuring the supply of new furniture in the industry.
Second, NFSAA has been given the task of keeping up with supply.
It’s hard to find a home for everything, including the bed, the desk, and some of the items you might consider keeping.
The problem is that all of these items can be moved and re-purposed, especially in an era when people are buying more electronics and appliances.
The shortage of furniture has been a challenge for the industry since the 1970 and 1980s, when many retailers shifted from selling large volumes of items like pianos and keyboards to more economical models such as chairs and desks.
But many retailers have not followed through on their sales strategies.
They’ve been forced to find cheaper, and sometimes even no-name, furniture that they can sell for a few hundred dollars.
“It’s a very big problem and I think that has to be addressed,” Mr Waddells said.
“The government needs to do a lot more to make sure that we have the best supply chain and to give retailers the tools to be able respond to demand.”
A key issue is that most of the furniture items we buy are from overseas.
The average price of furniture in Australia is around $1,200.
The price of some of these cheap items has gone up over the years, but they are still affordable.
The government is trying to help by introducing a new rebate for furniture purchased overseas.
It also has plans to set up a new supply chain for furniture in future.
The prime minister said the government was committed to tackling the supply issue.
“We have been looking at it for quite some time, and I’m convinced that we are on the right track,” Mr Turnbull said.
“I’ve got a very, very big task ahead of us.”
