Buyers can now shop through Lexington furniture online, the Wall Street Post reported.
The furniture retailer announced the move Friday.
The new store will be located in the company’s historic headquarters at 2201 S. Central Ave., in suburban New York.
“Lexington is a classic furniture and home decor retailer, with more than 10,000 employees worldwide,” the company said in a statement.
“We have more than 1,200 brick-and-mortar stores worldwide and are proud to share our brands with customers of all ages and interests.”
For now, the new store is only open for business Monday through Friday.
But in a blog post on Monday, the company touted the closings as a way to make room for new stores.
“This is a great opportunity to transform the Lexington brand from a boutique to a modern, high-quality retailer of quality furniture,” it said.
Lexington has more than 4,000 locations in the United States, Canada, and the Caribbean, according to its website.
The retailer’s stock is up about 20 percent in the past year, to $6.69 on the New York Stock Exchange.
